- Hey David!! Great interview on CBC's Saturday Night Blues last
night. Nice renditions of those 2 songs. Maybe one day Holger will
tape a portion of a live electric show to feature... looking forward
to December... Robert TIT-GUY just turned 50.
- PG fans - of Prince George, British Columbia, Canada
- Once again...missed your show on CBC! Bad advertising or just
not hearing things right? Any shows on the Island in December?
- Toontown Sally - rommel45@hotmail.com of
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
- Dave, The suit people at Moores miss your witty banter. Women
with a lack of facial fat yearn for your return. Bottles of Corona
have been left dusty. Colin James has been skulking around muttering
about selling his soul to the devil for collegen injection treatments,
and we need you to convince him to leave. Help!
- Quote from Stevie Ray Vaughan -
- Since SRV is one of your icons, thought you might appreciate his
wise words:
"Ya know, right now the most important thing in my life is to make sure
you understand that, first of all I thank God I'm alive today, and I mean that.
I spent too many years of my life thinking that the big party was the whole
thing. It took me quiet a while to find out that the real deal is to be able
to be enough of a person on your own to know when somebody loves you and cares
about you.
You see, we are here, as far as I can tell, to help each other; our brothers,
our sisters, our friends, our enemies. That is to help each other and not hurt
each other. And sometimes to help them we have got to help ourself. So that
we will know that they are around in the first place.
Its a big world out there; with enough pain and misery in it; without me going
around and helping it out by hurting myself; and consequently, those that care
about me.
What I am trying to get across to you; is please take of yourselves and those
that you love; because that is what we are here for, that's all we got, and
that is all we can take with us. Are you with me ?"
- Robert E Daoust - rob_daoust@hotmail.com of

- David, I hope everything is cool with you. I just finished checking
your touring dates and plan to catch your shows at the Rainbow in
Ottawa and possibly in Montreal at Cafe Campus as well. Keep up the
crusade... Robert

- Its always such a pleasure to see talented blues musicians come
our way. Thanks to great folks like Jim C. we will hopefully see
much more of you. Try not to forget us little folks when you are
touring the world. My son is aspiring to be a famous guitar player
and as long as you are working as hard as you are he will always
have someone to aspire to. Thanks for the sticker xox vive le blues

seeing you guys. All of our hard work definately paid off when you
guys hit the stage. Good stuff! FISH ON!!!
- Whitehorse fan - Yukon, Canada
- Gogo... we so look forward to your show in Sooke this December...
PS - If you could get some glamour shots for your next album cover
like Diana Krall's latest, I'm sure you could bump her out of the
charts! Some oiled-up leather pants shots... it'd work.

- Greetings! I am the senior editor of the Journal of Vaisnava Studies,
an international academic quarterly that caters to the college circuit.
Our upcoming two issues focus on Progressive Blues and another on
Virtuoso Musicians. These will be special 200-page issues, with a
special emphasis on the CD review section. Our musicologist is interested
in reviewing any and all David Gogo cds -- perhaps for an overview
article. Since we do not have downloading capabilities, please send
cds and/or cassettes (along with print copy bio data).
Ed Note: Information has been sent along to Steve...
- Toontown Sally - Rommel45@hotmail.com of

- Hola Brother. I just dropped by to check on the dates so I can
properly prepare for your arival. I've already got the Bevis sound
clips on disc, a few vaugely faggy waiters lined up to impress (remember
the beponytailed guy at St. Tropiez?), mint copies of the entire
Edgar Winters catalog and a bottle of Talisker. Now all I need is
the video collection of Lidsville episodes, and I'll be as prepared
for you arrival as Micheal Jackson is preparded to be classified
as a whole new species . Bring fresh pictures of your little family
and the new digs. I've got to go finish my Max Webster / Aldo Nova
/ Toronto mixed tape. See you soon!
- Ron and Karen - doucette@mars.ark.com of
Hornby Island, British Columbia, Canada
- Hey Dave... Sure loved your show here. It is always a treat to
see you. And your new band, The Junkyard Angels, were just
super. Love to see you and Gerry Barnum together! Lots of great feedback
from everyone on the island. Hope you guys had as great a time as
you gave us. Thanks again Dave from all the people of Hornby. You
are our favorite Rocker - Ron and Karen
- Duris Maxwell - duris@gulfislandsgiude.com of

- Hi David: Just wanted to say again what an honour it was to finally
play with you on the island. I'm still "sunburned" from
your brilliant talent!! But bring it on, buddy!!!!!! The next time
we hook-up I'll have to give you my magic formula for cooking prawns.
If you can't get a date after that, you're officially hooped! :)
- Karen of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

- Dear David - Just wanted to thank you again for appearing on Breakfast
at the NewRO in Ottawa. You were fantastic! You are a very talented
man so keep up the good work. I sincerely hope you had a good time
on the show. I know it was really early in the morning but you did
manage to perform like a true Canadian. Keep in touch ;-)
A.J. - Floor Director - Breakfast at the NewRO
- Doug McGiffin - dmcgiffin@fgsd5.ca of
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
- In reviewing your Guest Book along with following your successes
over the years, it seems you have matured into a greatly talented
performer. I remember the days when you first played Winnipeg and
were paid in rolled coins. I hope that we get the chance to again
witness your excellent style and exhuberance in Winnipeg. Great to
see you are doing so well and we think of you often.

well-known now? Keep rockin the blues - www.dirtyblues.com
- Willy Pichler - pichlerw@rogers.com of

- We (my wife and I) caught both shows of the Back 2 Back Guitar
Attack show at the Rainbow this past weekend. We are blessed with
some of the finest guitar players in the country here, e.g. Tony
D and Trevor Finley, but unfortunately, they don't play MY kind of
blues very often. Your version of "This is a Man's World" has
instantly become one of my favourite tunes. The last ime I was that
impressed was when Eddie Vaan Shaw rocked the house at the Rainbow
after Bluesfest 2000. WOW!
- Robert E Daoust - rob_daoust@hotmail.com of
Masson-Angers, Quebec, Canada
- Thanks Dave, for the GREAT music you played out here in the east
on this small tour... Take it easy at X-MAS and take some time off
to relax and come back in the spring or summer with another excellent
recording... By the way the band was really HOT !! adios Robert
- Al Barnes - NutZ@videotron.ca of
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
- Hi David, I enjoyed the show at the Rainbow but I have 1 complaint.
As much as I like Tony D, I would REALLY like to see you do a full
show. I know you have the music so PLEASE come back and do a full
show.
- Scott
Riddell - wallcrawler22@msn.com of

- Hey Dave! Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and say hi. Halfway
To Memphis is great, yet another solid album under your belt.
Keep'em coming. Can't wait for you to come back to Vic. The last
gig at Lucky was a little short.
By the way Dave... thank you. You're my inspiration for my own writing and
singing. Your music means a lot to me. Happy holidays.

- Hans Groot Wesseldijk - hgw@chello.nl of Apeldoorn, the Netherlands
- Hi David, just visited your site, because i was curious to see
if i could expect another great show in Holland... Hope you will
play here again soon! I saw you twice in Apeldoorn at the Bluescafe
(Small in size, great in atmosphere) where you played amazingly,
even when you were sitting on a parked bike OUTSIDE the cafe! I will
never forget that. I bought a signed CD at both occasions. Now i
see that you have released 4 cd's i hope i can expand my collection,
again from your own (very talented) hand. Greetings and all the best
to you from overseas!
- Adam Gogo - symbience@hotmail.com of

- David, out of curiousity, I was wondering what your family background
is. I was born in Port Alberni, and I do not know much of mine. I
figure since we have the same last name, there may be some sort of
relation. Please email me if you feel inclined to further this. During
my life, I have found that many people have asked me if we are related.
Unfortunately, I have to say no, because I have never met you nor
have heard you name ever raised in the family.

- I saw David play at the jazz Festival here last summer... and
I only have one word to sum up his performance... WOW! He is a great
performer, and really interacts with his audience, which you don't
see a lot of these days. Would see him again NO PROBLEM! Hope you
come out again this year, David! Looking forward to seeing you there
again! --Staci (0:`,

tour schedule though...Cheers, Sherrie and Yves

- Maj Tom Mitchell - tamitch@shaw.ca of
Comox, British Columbia, Canada
- I can't believe my luck - I've been an electic blues fan for 30
years & have discovered David in my own back yard! I just wander
over to the Edge Water Marine Pub on Comox Harbour on Wed nights
where he often plays in the weekly Blues Jam with 2 local guitar
gems - Todd Butler & Doug Cox. After a belly full of hot wings, Kokanee
Beer and a night of the blues I stumble home fully satified. Also
saw his Acoustic Show in Courtenay last week - excellent! It's also
nice to be able to purchase David's CDs from him personally. Glad
to have met you David & hope that you continue coming up to the Comox
Valley regularly.

- Debbie Brunette - d.brunette@sympatico.ca of
North Bay, Ontario, Canada
- Hi David. I saw you playing for the first time at a local bar
here (Wylders) about 10 years ago and quite a few times after that.
I' m happy to see you are doing so well. Do you still play Northern
Ontario? Maybe not Wylders but perhaps a bigger venue like the Capital
Centre or the Heritage Festival in August? Alot of tourists visit
for the Heritage Festival every year ( Tom Cochrane, Blue Rodeo Kim
Mitchell etc have already played for it.) We are big fans of your
music up here. Could you let me know if and when you will be playing
up this way again. Or even if you play in Ottawa...would gladly take
a trip there if I knew in advance. Anyway, take care and keep up
the great work! Deb

- CJ - celindarice@canada.com of

- Was just reading through the notes from others (from all over
the world). The note from Britain hit the mark I Should Have Lied brings
chills on tape, in person -OOOOOOHHHHH hooooo baby. The best part
is when David actually enters the audience, playing as he goes! Gives
me chills just thinking about it. David just keeps better with age.
He's sensational, as a person, and as an artist! Luv ya David. Miss
you, see you at the Queen's!
- Dan Silljer - dbsilljer@sk.sympatico.ca of
Regina, Saskatchewan Canada
- First heard you on Holger's show last summer. Picked up
your new CD as soon as I saw it in the store. GREAT!! You are indeed
one of Canada's own guitar slingers. Have looked at your tour schedule
and see you playing in Saskatoon, but not Regina. As marketing director
for Delta Blues Association of Canada in Regina, am always looking
for someone new to play at our mid-winter blues festival, first weekend
in March. Am sure our patrons would be knocked out!!! Thanks - Dan

- Mike - mike@mlbar.freeserve.co.uk of

- I bought Dine Under the Stars simply because I read somewhere
that when Walter decides to leave the top guitar slot, a certain
David Gogo will take over.
My god, were they right or what!? This live CD has just about the most passionate
guitar playing I have ever heard. Hoochie Coochie just smoulders, and Sweet
Little Angel is the best cover I have heard.
CD's apparantly never wear out eh? Mine has to be close to being played to
death. Thanks a million David, you're welcome in UK anytime.

- Hey Big Daddy! Nice stuff. It was really good to hear you at the
Q's at the release party. Stirred up the old ghosts and the Guiness
induced reality was in focus so as not to block or distort the true
spirituality of your fingerplay.
I was hoping to bump into you as every time I listen (5x's/day) to the White
Stripes (especially track 5) I want to play it for you. Check it. July
18.
- Dan Wrappe - thelateshift@griffiti.net of
Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada
- Hello Mr. Gogo, I thought I'd take the time to write to tell u
that your guitar skills are limited to the blues pentatonic
scale. This saddens me. Also if David Gahn had actually
succeeded in killing himself via overdose, he would be rolling over
in his grave due to your vocals on Personal Jesus (a.k.a.
the worst cover ever). ed - Dan, Gogo thanks you for your thoughtful
entry and wonders if you are available to hang with him. Your understanding
of the blues genre and your ability to understand the emotions of
the pre-dead intrigue him. He is also worried about your depression.
;)

- A visiting friend turned me on to Halfway To Memphis. I
co-host a Friday PM drive-time BLUES show on KZUM (WWW.KZUM.ORG)

was a big hit. Keep it rollin' and don't forget...

- David, Caught a preview of your album on CBC, and then heard Personal
Jesus on our local CKYX 97.8 FM and had to buy. Just got it
20 minutes ago in the mail. WOW. Can't begin to say how much I enjoy
this record. A great, great listening experience. Keep up the excellent
work. Take care, Mark...

- Hi Gogo... Was digging through old photos, found the ones from
Cuba and thought I would look you up to see if you were still playing.
Wish you got down to the states more often so I could hear you play
again. I will have to find your CD's somewhere. I am very interested
in what you wrote about this time. Best of luck... All My Love...

- David... My workmate and I go to the King Eddy often. We saw you
and Tony D recently and my buddy said it was the first time he had
goosebumps when you were walking around playing slide with the shooter
glass. Outstanding guitar. Bought a couple CDs from you but you were
sold out of Halfway to Memphis. I ordered it today. Enjoyed
talking with you afterwards about the Montreal Canadiens - imagine
a Nanaimo boy being a Habs fan. You signed the disc covers with #10
- Guy Lafleur has always been my idol also! Just wanted to say I
love listening to your guitar and wish you every success. Come back
to Calgary soon.
